How it works

One weekly cutoff, from menu to fulfillment.

No more orders scattered across texts, DMs, and a spreadsheet — one menu, one cutoff, one set of locked counts.

What PrepRail handles

Everything the week needs.

Customer ordering

A branded storefront at your own address, where customers pick meals or weekly plans from their phones. Reminders, skips, and chef's choice are built in.

Weekly money

Saved cards charge together at the cutoff, for the exact totals customers confirmed. Failures get a recovery window, and every payment lands directly in your Stripe account.

Kitchen execution

Production, shopping, and packing lists come from the same locked orders — with labels, browser printing, and CSV export on every list.

Fulfillment

Delivery and pickup views carry frozen addresses and clear done-versus-remaining status. When the week is out the door, clone it and go again.

Also handled: labels & packing slips · per-meal caps & sold-out · manual and phone orders · CSV import with preview · order minimums · tipping · branded emails · custom domains

For your customers

Simple for customers, structured for your kitchen.

Your kitchen at its own link, in one of three looks — customers pick from their phones in under a minute.

  • One link to your menu — no app to install, no account juggling.
  • Reminders before picks close, an itemized confirmation after — and skipping a week takes one tap.
  • Their card saves once and charges only at the cutoff, for the exact total they confirmed.

Pricing

$0

per month for kitchens

PrepRail is paid by a small service fee your customers see on their meals — never by your kitchen.

  • No PrepRail subscription, selling fee, or cut of your menu prices.
  • Customers see a 4% service fee on the food subtotal — delivery, tax, and tips stay outside it.
  • Payments go directly through your kitchen's connected Stripe account — standard Stripe processing fees apply.

Setup and migration

Move in without disrupting next week.

Bring your current customer list and build the first week in one guided setup. Imported customers keep their plan pricing and add a card when they accept your invite.

  1. 01Name your kitchen, set your weekly plans and your schedule — when picks open, close, and meals go out.
  2. 02Connect Stripe so cutoff can charge cards (optional until you launch).
  3. 03Add your meals — four make a menu; ingredients feed the shopping list.
  4. 04Share your storefront link or invite customers by email; paste a CSV from Customers to bring your current list over.
  5. 05Review and publish your first week.

FAQ

What does PrepRail cost?

Nothing from your kitchen — no subscription, selling fee, or cut of your menu prices; standard Stripe card-processing applies. Customers pay your menu prices plus a small 4% service fee on their meals — that's how PrepRail gets paid.

Is PrepRail a fit for my business?

PrepRail is built for independent kitchens running a repeating weekly menu with a known cutoff — per-meal, weekly plans, or both, with pickup or delivery on scheduled days. It's not the main fit yet for on-demand delivery, guest checkout, catering quotes, POS and inventory costing, or international currency and complex tax needs.

How and when do cards charge?

Customers save a card once. When picks close at your weekly cutoff, every saved card charges automatically for the exact total each customer confirmed — no invoices, no chasing.

What happens when a card fails?

The customer hears about it immediately with a link to fix their card, and PrepRail retries before your payment deadline. Failures show up on your Payments page as exceptions, and you decide whether to cook that order anyway.

What happens if a customer does not pick?

Your call, per customer: skip them for the week, or fill their order with your chef's choice. Either way, reminders go out before the cutoff.

Can I offer weekly plans and per-meal ordering?

Both, side by side. Weekly plans charge a flat rate for a set number of meals; à-la-carte customers pay for exactly what they pick.

Does it support pickup and delivery?

Both. Each customer is set to delivery or pickup, and your lists split to match — the delivery list carries addresses, phone numbers, and notes.

Can I bring my existing customer list?

Yes — paste a CSV to import customers and send invites in one step. Imported customers keep the plan pricing you set, and add their card when they accept.

Does my kitchen get its own brand and domain?

Yes. Your kitchen gets its own preprail.com address automatically — like harvesthearth.preprail.com — styled with your name, colors, and photos. If you own a domain, you can point it at your storefront instead.

Can I change a published week — and who handles refunds?

You can edit a published menu (customers are emailed when something they picked changes), move the cutoff earlier, or cancel the week; confirmed picks keep the prices they were shown. Your kitchen is the merchant of record: refunds and disputes run through your own Stripe account, and a full refund returns the customer's service fee too.
